Manufacturer's tip:

For optimal grip, I recommend sanding the surface with 220 to 400 grit sandpaper. This should then be followed by sandblasting with 80 grit abrasive at 3–4 bar pressure (40–60 psi). A 400 grit finish offers the ideal compromise between grip and an attractive appearance.

To restore the full color depth, a very thin layer of wax can be applied and buffed by hand. Be careful not to use too much wax, as a layer that is too thick will significantly reduce grip. If this happens, the grip can easily be restored by further buffing by hand.
