These bearings are made of hardened stainless steel balls in a brass cage, running directly against the liner surface without an additional hardened washer. They deliver a butter smooth, play free opening action that stays precise even after thousands of actuations.

Especially suited for folding knives with titanium or stainless steel liners, since these materials are already hard enough on their own and don't need an extra washer for protection. This keeps the bearing compact and affordable, without giving up smooth action or lifespan on these builds.

Tip

Since these bearings skip the hardened washer, they're ideal for folding knives with titanium or stainless steel liners, where the liner itself already provides the needed hardness. For handle scales made of softer materials, we recommend our bearings with hardened washer instead, since those provide extra protection against wear.

The outer diameter of 7.8 mm remains the critical measurement for the counterbore on the scale side of the liner. The inner diameter of 4.2 mm is less critical, a standard 4 mm pivot pin fits without issue, and the slightly larger inner diameter prevents friction and helps give you a clean running folder right out of the gate.
